DES MOINES—Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird today announced the promotions of Keisha Cretsinger to Chief of the Statewide Prosecutions Section and Lindsey Browning to Chief of the Administrative Law Section.
“These promotions are well-deserved and bring valuable new leadership to our team,” said Attorney General Bird. “With their vast experience, expertise, and determination, our office is equipped to continue our mission of locking up criminals, keeping our communities safe, and serving all Iowans.”
Keisha Cretsinger
Keisha Cretsinger was promoted to serve as Chief of the Statewide Prosecutions Section. In this role, she will lead criminal prosecutions across the state.
Cretsinger previously served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Statewide Prosecutions Section, where she prosecuted criminal cases such as domestic violence, sexual violence, and homicide. She also served as a Sexually Violent Predator prosecutor, representing the State of Iowa in civil commitment cases involving sexually violent predators. Her prior experience includes working as Assistant District Attorney in Wisconsin and as Assistant County Attorney in Story County, where she specialized in domestic violence and sexual assault cases. Cretsinger received her undergraduate degree from Simpson College and law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law.
Lindsey Browning
Lindsey Browning was promoted to serve as Section Chief of the Administrative Law Section. In this role, she will defend and provide legal counsel for state officials and agencies.
Browning previously served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Agency Counsel Division. Before joining the Iowa Attorney General’s office, she served as Assistant County Attorney in the Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office and Assistant State Attorney in Illinois, where she prosecuted domestic violence, child abuse, and child pornography cases. Browning also worked in private practice with a focus on complex civil litigation involving bankruptcy fraud and white-collar crimes. Browning received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and law degree from Drake University Law School.
