New site configures display for mobile, tablet and desktop users
(DES MOINES, Iowa) Smartphone and tablet users can more easily file consumer complaints and access key information through a new website launched Monday by Attorney General Tom Miller.
The new website, at www.iowaattorneygeneral.gov, which maintains the same web address, has been redesigned and simplified.
“We know that on many websites a majority of users now access them through mobile devices,” Miller said. “Our new site accommodates those users, so it’s accessible to more Iowans.”
The new website is responsive, meaning the site detects whether users are accessing it through smartphones, tablets or desktop computers, and configures the display accordingly. Users accessing the site through any device can file complaints through the Consumer Protection Division, seek crime victim compensation, and obtain other information through the attorney general’s website.
“Consumers can now more easily file complaints online, and crime victims can seek compensation through smart phones and tablets,” Miller said. In March, the website will enable users who pay certain fees through the office to do so online.
“We’re excited to connect with Iowans using any device,” Miller said. “Our site should be easier to navigate and faster to use for consumers, crime victims, businesses and others who connect with our office.”
The attorney general’s office selected Global Reach Internet Productions, of Ames, to implement the new site.
