(DES MOINES, Iowa) The Conference of Western Attorneys General (CWAG) this week recognized Attorney General Tom Miller’s official website as the best overall member site for this year. The office launched the new site in February.
CWAG presented Miller its 2015 Best Overall Site WAGGY Award at its annual conference. The WAGGY awards program recognizes and honors outstanding achievement, including aesthetics and service excellence to the public, in member websites. Each year, a committee selects winners in categories that include Best Overall, Website Leadership, Consumer Outreach, Crime Fighting, and other special categories.
“We are honored that our colleagues chose Iowa’s site as the best overall,” Miller said. “We’re proud of our website’s clean design and great functionality, and we think it has really enhanced Iowans’ access to information from our office.”
Miller’s official website was redesigned and simplified. The site is responsive, meaning it detects whether users are accessing it through smartphones, tablets or desktop computers, and configures the user’s display accordingly. Users accessing the site through any device can file online complaints through the Consumer Protection Division, seek crime victim compensation, and obtain other information through the attorney general’s website.
CWAG is a bipartisan group comprised of chief legal officers from more than 30 member and associate member states and territories across the country. The organization provides members a forum for information sharing and cooperation in certain areas of interest, including water, fish and wildlife, public lands, minerals, environmental protection and Native American law.
Global Reach Internet Productions, of Ames, implemented the attorney general's new website. In a separate award, the Web Marketing Association awarded Global Reach a 2015 Government Standard of Excellence WebAward for the attorney general's site redesign.
