Eligibility Requirements for Funded Programs

Victim Services Support (VSS) Program

Programs funded with federal and state grants from the VSS program can access vital information on this page.  That information includes links to the various federal funding stream webpages, performance report requirements and deadlines, and eligibility requirements including certified assurances.  We are currently in a funding cycle.  We anticipate that the next funding will be eligible for SFY2019.

Victims of Crime Act Assistance funds (VOCA or VA) are awarded to Iowa by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office for Victims of Crime. The funds come from the federal VOCA Fund that consists entirely of fines and penalties paid by convicted federal criminals. The funds are collected by U.S. Attorney Offices. Violence Against Women Act funds (VAWA or VW) are awarded to Iowa by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office on Violence Against Women. Family Violence Prevention and Services Act  funds (FV) are awarded to Iowa by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, The Administration for Children and Families, Office of Community Services. Congress appropriates the funds annually.  Click on the links for Eligibility Requirements and Certified Assurances.

Sexual Abuse Services Program funds (SASP or SS) are awarded to Iowa by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office on Violence Against Women. Congress appropriates the funds annually.  Click on the links for Eligibility Requirements and Certified Assurances.

Iowa Domestic Abuse (DA) funds and Iowa Sexual Abuse (SA) funds are appropriated annually by the Iowa Legislature. Click on the links for Eligibility Requirements and Certified Assurances.

Additional certified assurances:  Debarment Certification, Tobacco Certification, Lobbying and Drug-Free Workplace, Minority Impact Statement, OCR Worksheet and Consultation Agreement.

Remember to sign the Certified Assurances with blue ink when submitting your application.
