Crime Victim Compensation - What documentation do we need to substantiate a crime?

The individuals that should attend this webinar are those who work directly with crime victims in any capacity. The Crime Victim Compensation Eligibility rules require us to substantiate the crime. This can be done with various methods. Confidentiality and Victim Advocate Statements

This webinar will review the ways that advocates can substantiate a crime for a victim without reporting the crime to police. According to funding and Iowa law, victim confidentiality is the cornerstone of excellent advocacy. Identity Theft Passport Program Overview and Updates

Did you know that $16 billion was stolen from 12.7 million U.S. consumers in 2014? Did you also know there was a new identity fraud victim every two seconds in 2014?  This webinar will provide attendees with an overview of the Identity Theft Passport program from the Crime Victim Assistance Division of the Iowa Attorney General's Office. There have been some eligibility changes that began July 1 of this year. IowaVINE 101

This webinar will provide attendees with an overview of the automatic notification system in Iowa.  IowaVINE is the victim information system that provides updates to registrants of offender movement within the county jails and the Iowa Department of Corrections.  The attendees will learn how to use the system, why it is important, and new features and benefits of the notification system.  To watch this webinar, click here.  (updated as of 6/2019).

IowaVINE 101 for Jail/DOC Administrators and IT Personnel

This webinar will provide jailers and jail administrators with an overview of the automatic notification system in Iowa.  IowaVINE is the victim information system that provides updates to registrants of offender movement within the county jails and the Iowa Department of Corrections.   The attendees will have a session specifically for jail administrators and jail staff. They will learn how to use the system and why it is important. They will learn updated information about how their interaction is unique around the data and jail management systems. Victim Notification:  The Ins & Outs of County Jails, DOC, and BOP

This webinar will show attendees the difference between IowaVINE (the state's automated victim notification system) and manual registration with the county attorney's office. IowaVINE is a voluntary system that is open to all victims and community members. Registration with the county attorney's office is a manual system which must be manually transferred to the Department of Corrections and the Board of Parole for future notifications of parole hearings, etc. Participants should include victim witness coordinators, county attorney staff, victim advocates, and others.  To access the recording, click here.

Victim Services Data: Collecting and Reporting
