Job Details
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks a capable legal secretary to serve in the Prosecuting Attorneys Training Coordinator section.
Key Responsibilities
Handle correspondence and phone calls. Interact with businesses, law enforcement officers, law offices, all 99 county attorney’s offices, and the public, often serving as a primary point of contact. Solicit bids for event venues. Plan, schedule and facilitate events. Prepare agendas and meeting materials, attend meetings, and maintain minutes and official records of those meetings. Maintain attorneys' calendars, ensuring they are aware of upcoming commitments and deadlines. Maintain multiple email databases and committee rosters. Process billings and receipt revenues. Process forfeitures and assist with titling vehicles. Travel to meetings and multi-day conferences which will require work outside of normal business hours. Consistently lift 40 pounds. Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Requirements
Candidates must have a passion for public service and event planning, and possess high levels of organization, prioritization, customer service, written and verbal communication, math computation, and data entry skills. The most competitive candidates will have experience working independently and prioritizing tasks with a wide view of upcoming events and deadlines. Prior experience in office administration support is a must. Prior experience in public service is a plus.
