Job Details
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks an experienced criminal prosecutor with proven trial skills to represent the State in civil commitments of sexually violent predators under Iowa Code chapter 229A. A successful candidate will be committed to protecting victims, supporting law enforcement, and achieving justice for Iowans. The position will serve in the Statewide Prosecutions Section (formerly known as Area Prosecutions).

Requirements
Preferred experience would include past criminal trial experience, especially experience prosecuting sexual assaults involving children and adults.
The position requires some travel throughout Iowa—typically for one-day bench trials, though recently most commitment trials have been held remotely by videoconference—and admission to practice law in Iowa.
Salary range is $100,000-$135,000, depending on experience.
