Job Details
The Iowa Attorney General seeks an attorney for the Criminal Appeals Division. Attorneys in this division strive to keep in place the criminal convictions, sentences, and commitments obtained by county attorneys and state prosecutors from the Attorney General’s Area Prosecutions Division. They also advise on extradition matters, review legislation, assist in training, and keep victims informed. These attorneys practice primarily before the Iowa Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, but also in the federal district courts, 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and occasionally the United States Supreme Court.
