Backing the Blue

As Iowa’s chief legal officer, the Attorney General plays an important role in ensuring law enforcement receives the support and resources they need to uphold justice. The Attorney General’s Office conducts investigations into all officer involved shootings resulting in death, and the Attorney General reviews each case to ensure justice is administered fairly and that every citizen is equally protected under the law.   

The Attorney General works in conjunction with local law enforcement and county attorneys to prosecute major cases, providing support and statewide coordination. Additionally, the office partners with local law enforcement to help solve cold cases, bringing long-awaited answers to Iowa families.
